A story of resilience, hope, and transformation from the heart of the Imperial Valley.

Discover and join a journey shaped by resilience, hope, and transformation from the heart of the Imperial Valley. Thanks to his vision and determination, Comité de Acción del Valle, Inc. was born. As a farmworker, he experienced firsthand the harmful exposure to pesticides and agricultural chemicals—exposure that eventually led to cancer. Yet, this painful chapter also gave him a powerful purpose.

Through his personal struggle, he realized that his story was not unique. Thousands of farmworkers across the region face the same risks every single day. This understanding ignited his conviction that no one else should endure what he did. And that conviction moved him to take action.

This is how “Comité de Acción del Valle, Inc.” came to life, an organization dedicated to protecting the health of agricultural communities and promoting a safer, cleaner, and more sustainable agricultural environment.
